The third director of the Anti-Corruption Agency of Mongolia N.Ganbold yesterday had delivered a request of resignation to the President Ts.Elbegdorj

In his request written by hand he said “I was appointed as a director of Anti-Corruption agency with Parliament resolution on November 17, 2011. Herewith I am writing this request to resign from my position at my own interest.

I request to accept my request and make a decision in accordance with the law”.

The amended law defines criteria for appointment of the director of Anti-Corruption as the candidate must be over 45 years old and more. The candidate is supposed to be suggested by the President and ratified by the Parliament.

Yet, the reasons why the director is willing to resign and what was the response of the President are unclear at this time.
