Every year on April 20th family, relatives and party friends lay flowers to S.Zorig’s statue on his birthday.

The tradition to express respect was repeated once again. S.Zorig was murdered on October 2 of 1998. The murder case was widely investigated since then by police with murder remained unsolved. He would’ve been turned 54 today.

Wife of late politician B.Bulgan was detained four months ago at detention center. She said to be detained as the only one witness of the murder. Recently she had filed a complaint that her rights are violated and she is not allowed to meet her family and relatives. The Standing committee on Legislation of the Parliament had discussed the case and delivered number of proposals to the National Commission of Human Rights as the witness Bulgan is detained severely in bright light room alone.

MPs Ts.Oyungerel and L.Bold met Bulgan who requested to address to the relevant authorities raising her concerns on violation of rights and asked MPs to take care of her mother. The State General Prosecutor Office established a working group to assess the detention conditions and whether her rights were violated as it was said.

MP S.Oyun, younger sister of late S.Zorig said “We are the victims. And we are waiting and expecting to get this case resolves as earlier as possible. For last 18 years, we’ve been patient and calm. We’ve never been speculating and suspecting any political party, someone specific. We still believe that legal and police authorities still have their passion to detect the murder”.

18th time since the murder, family, relatives and close friends laid flowers to S.Zorig’s statue just south of Central Square. Flowers laid on October 2nd as well on date of his murder.

Zorig Sanjaasuren (20 April 1962 – 2 October 1998) was a prominent Mongolian politician and leader of the country's 1990 democratic revolution. He is called the "Golden Swallow of Democracy". His murder remains unsolved. After his death, his sister Oyun entered politics and founded the Civic Will Party.
