Mongolia exported around 4000 tons of cashmere in the first four months of 2016, 52.4 tons of which is combed.

The value of the exported combed cashmere is US$3.6 m which is less than next year.

55% of combed cashmere was exported to Italy, 39% to UK and remaining to India and Japan.

In May of last year Mongolia had exported 2000 tons of combed cashmere to China but not this year, despite raw cashmere is still on exports to the southern neighbor.

According to the Law on Exchange of agricultural products and raw materials, the raw materials must be traded through the Agricultural stock exchange.

Since January of 2016, total of 1634.1 tons of raw cashmere was traded.
