The City Council approved Friendly Ulaanbaatar program in 2014. The program is carried by the Tourism Authority of UB city and the Cultural Office.

A business conference was organized to introduce the activities to be organized within the Friendly Ulaanbaatar. UB city Mayor E.Bat-Uul with his staff attended the conference and introduced the tourism projects and programs.

In 2015, the Friendly Ulaanbaatar had organized 15 package activities which involved over 500 technical staff and 1500 artists and performers entertaining more than 460,000 people including tourists.

190 artists from 13 countries had participated in the various cultural events. The UB city Tourism Authority confirmed that the number of tourists arriving to Ulaanbaatar had increased by 3-6%. The Aurhority said that they expect more to come as they will be organizing 19 package activities in 2016, including Ulaanbaatar Marathon, UB piano festival, ethnic concert, Vienna waltz, UB dance festival, Playtime – live music concert, Best of Classics night, Silence white – DJ concert, Steppe dance, Best of Morin Khuur festical, international jazz festival “UB Swing Night”, rock-pop concert “Honor of Fame”, religious festival “Danshig”, UB Extreme sports field, UB International Movie festival and much more, reported the Press Office of the Chancellery of UB city.
