The “Save the Noyon mountain” movement applied to the administration court of UB city to suspend the licenses issued to the Centerra Gold which had planned to mine Noyon mountain, located in the territory of Mandal soum of ZSelenge province. The court accepted the appeal and resolved to suspend the license. The defendant contested the decision and the application was discussed today (June 6) at the appellate court. The appellate court resolved that 12  points of the appeal raised by the civil society organizations are unaccommodated and returned the case to the primary court.

We have clarified from J.Ganbaatar, representative of the movement in Ulaanbaatar whether the decision of the primary court to suspend the license may be changed with return of the case back to the court.

-The court considered that six of 12 points raised by the civil society organization are unaccommodated. The primary court suspended four licenses issued to the Centerra gold. We believe that accommodation of the request shall terminate the issued licenses.
