Voting started at 7:00 AM today (June 29). Mongolians are voting for their next Parliament and local government. Voting shall officially end at 22:00 and the General Election Committee calls all the citizens to actively participate in elections.

2786 candidates from 12 parties, three coalitions and self-runners, run for the elections, including 498 for Parliamentary and 2288 for local government. 68 self-runners run for Parliament elections, first time ever in the history of Mongolia, largest number of self-runners. 129 out of 498 are reported female candidates.

1,912,901 voters are registered in the list. The General Election Committee said to provide update on voting at 1200, 1700 and 2200 accordingly with following preliminary results after 2200 at their own office though for some unknown reasons the Committee rescheduled 1200 update to 1300.
