“Zes erdeniin huvi” (Copper gem share) shareholding company shall commission cathode copper plant to process oxidized copper from Erdenet low grade ore. The company established in 2010 lists over 40 thousand shareholders. In 2015 the company signed the agreement with the state owned Erdenet copper plant to utilize the ore.

Investment and partnership agreement to develop the new cathode plant project was signed today by D.Tuvshinjargal, executive director of “Zes erdeniin huvi” and Ts.Sanjjav, CEO of BlueMon group.

Construction of the 5000 ton cathode copper plant with US$45 m investment shall start in May of this year. The project shall be managed by German Ferrostaal and Finnish Outotec to supply the technology and equipment was reported. The high technology plant shall create over 140 new jobs and to pay MNT7.08 billion in taxes to the state and local budget.
