Yo.Gerelchuluun, head of the UB city Election committee held a media briefing today. According to mr Gerelchuluun 314 candidates from 13 parties and two coalitions submitted their documents to run for UB City council elections.

924,629 voters shall vote at 396 voting points in UB.

Electrical supply, safety, security and telecommunication audit of voting points is ongoing, Mr Gerelculuun reported.

According to the Election Law, 13 parties and two coalitions had submitted their documents to run in the elections, including 45 candidates from MPP, 45 from DP, 45 from MPRP, 29 from HUN (Labor Party), 32 from coalition The UB city election committee is in the process of document review to finalize registration.

 “Over 30 independent candidates submitted requests to run for City Council. The independent candidates are supposed to submit their documents by 17.00 of tomorrow or May 14, 2016. Currently only eight candidates had submitted their documents. The candidates shall receive their certification on June 7 or 22 days before the election day.

2772 public employees shall be deployed for elections and 2347 of them have received related trainings. The City council election budget is set at MNT900 m.
