A briefing for ambassadors and diplomatic representatives in Mongolia on the status of preparation activities for the ASEM Summit was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on June 3.

The briefing was led by D. Gankhuyag, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the ASEM Office of Mongolia, as well as other senior officials of ASEM Office of Mongolia. The diplomats were briefed on issues related to the registration of the Summit delegates, visa exemption policy, hotels, preparations for the Summit meeting, and the Summit's program.

Hotels receiving ASEM delegation bookings

"40 hotels that have been selected as ASEM partner hotels are ready to welcome the guests, and delegate registration and hotel bookings are being done online," reported T. Tegshjargal, Director of State Administration Management Department of the Foreign Ministry and Secretary of the ASEM Venue and Accommodation working group, "280 delegates from 24 countries have made their hotel bookings with Shangri-La, 180 delegates from 7 countries have booked in Blue Sky Hotel and 190 delegates from 16 countries have booked in the Best Western Tuushin Hotel."

ASEM Summit provisional agenda presented

The plenary sessions of the Summit will be held at Shangri-La Hotel, where a total of 55 rooms have been prepared for office use, as well as for press conferences.

The provisional summit agenda comprises of plenary meetings, bilateral meetings, retreat session, and a cultural program called Nomads’ Naadam, which aims to showcase Mongolian culture and customs to the delegates.
