Parliament held its session today with 77.6% attendance. President Ts.Elbegdorj briefed the Parliament about the nomination of J.Erdenebat for Prime Minister, whose candidacy was supported by the MPP.

The MPP as a majority which won the election proposed J.Erdenebat for Prime Minister whose candidacy was approved by the Parliament. J.Erdenebat is an economist, served as a Governor of the Selenge province in 2008-2012 and member of the Parliament since 2012. With an appointment of the Prime Minister the governing party shall start building the Government structure and form the cabinet. President Ts.Elbegdorj directed to form the cabinet by August 1, 2016.

Along with the appointment of the new Prime Minister, the Parliament made an appointment of the head of the Anti-Corruption Agency. N.Ganbold, previous director of the Anti-Corruption agency resigned on April 14 at own request. The event attracted curiosity of public. Public was questioning whether his request was related to the political pressure, but N.Ganbold explained that he is willing to retire due to health issues.
