Reserves of Shivee Ovoo coal deposit is about 2.7 billion tons. Energy facilities are built nearby need investment of US$ 13 billion with estimated construction term of 5 years.

The Working group under the Erdenes Mongolia is developing the feasibility study of Shivee Energy complex to be presented in June to the Ministry of Energy for approval. The initial stage starts with construction of 9240 MW power station and associated infrastructure which means that the power station will have 8-9 times higher capacity than the total capacity of domestic stations currently installed. The power station shall be purchasing up to 34 m tons of coal every year for following 30 years from Shivee Ovoo.

The project shall be carried out and financed by State Grid Corporation of China with future plans to export electricity to China.
