Newly elected MPs received today their temporary IDs at 12.40 at the Parliament house. MPP got 65 seats out of 76 and 9 by DP, MPRP 1 seat and 1 by the independent candidate. Parties and coalitions run in elections made statements to accept the results of the elections and no serious complaint was filed. The vote counting machine transmitted the results directly without any delay which was broadcasted live on TV channels. Today 1400 the election results were presented to the President and President called the first session of the new parliament.
For now, there is a case at the court related to the MPP candidate D.Oyunkhorol, whose campaign office said to distributed cash to the voters. Also B.Bolorchuluun, MPP candidate said to transfer citizens to the voting locations and tried to influence voters. As there are no any serious violations except these two, there is a guess that the President soon to call the first session. The first session shall be guided by the oldest member, party caucus to be organized and the winner party shall propose new Speaker. It’s certain that the new Parliament to have MPP and DP caucuses.
In 2012 after the elections only 69 had took an oath due to huddle in counting the votes. Remaining 7 members joined the Parliament after the court resolution. But people say that this time ballot paper counting was much more efficient with almost no disputes. 72,1% out of 1.910.878 voters nationwide voted for their Parliament which is much high rate compared to 2012 elections.
