AmCham Mongolia (American Chamber of Commerce in Mongolia) featured today, May 19, 2016 Thursday on its monthly meeting Oyu Tolgoi top management.

The newly appointed Chief Development Officer Marco Pires made a presentation on the supply opportunities during of which he highlighted that "First and foremost, the priority for us in choosing partners is safety along with experience.”

US$5,38 b development capex is required to complete the defined scope introduced Mr Pires along with US$2,88 b to be spent for production ramp up.

The underground development includes technology solutions showcasing 5 vertical shafts, two underground crushers and a conveyor to the surface along with over 200 km of underground tunnels to mine the copper rich ore.

Along with the underground development, Oyu Tolgoi to upgrade and optimize the concentrator to process high grade ore with expected output of 180 m tons, mr Pires said.
