The Russian Federal council ratified the agreement on regulation of Mongolian debt to Russia signed on December 14, 2010 in Moscow. According to the document, US$174,2 outstanding debt of Mongolia to be written off.

The delay of the decision was restricting the bilateral cooperation, specifically creating barriers for Russian companies to be involved in large scale transportation and mining projects to be carried on the territory of Mongolia.  

Negotiations of July, 2010 resulted to close the 163,7 convertible rouble and US$ 10,5 m debt with US$3,8 to be paid by Mongolia.  

The Russian Government noted that regulation and final resolution of the debt shall clear all the existing barriers between two countries to develop the financial and investment environment. US$3,8 m shall be added to the Russian state budget as well as to upstage the Russian economic interest was reported.
