Mongolia issued 1939 licenses out of 3436 are for exploration and 1497 mining that are valid up date.  

280 companies out of 1497 special license holders had submitted their operational plans for 2016. By end of January 130 operational plans are approved and received their permits, the number once again confirms decline in mining sector.

864 special licenses were granted since exploration special license seekers started filling online applications. A decision was made to restore the exploration license granting process through the selection of the requestor for mineral deposits. The process was temporarily ceased relating to the Government resolution #511 of 2015 on mineral exploration special license area coordinates.

The sector was predicted to be positive this year with economy to boost but the current developments makes it very unclear. And it’s questionable whether the mine will operate at normal rate or not? Officials say that the mineral sector is not successful due to various events of last year.
