By end of December 2015, there are 6800 individuals from 78 countries work in Mongolia, which is less by 1200 individuals and 9 countries from the previous year, reported by the National Statistical office of Mongolia.

35,4% of all employees employed at labor contract are Chinese, 23% are North Koreans, 8,3% are Russians,6.7% are South Koreans, 4,2% are US citizens, 3,4% are Vietnamese and the rest 19% are from other countries. The numbers had declined by 49,6% of Vietnamese, 14,7% of North Koreans, 13,3% of Chinese, 11,7% of South Koreans, 11,3% of Americans and 5,4% of Russians accordingly.

1891 individuals or 28% of foreigners were working in construction sector, 1445 or 21,4% in mining and extractive industry, 924 or 13,7% in processing, 724 or 10,7% in wholesale and retail business as well as maintenance services and 825 or 12,1% in other sectors.
