Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia L.Purevsuren met Witold Waszczykowski, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland at UN office in Geneva on March 2, 2016 during his trip to Switzerland to attend the 31st UN Human Rights Council meeting held in Geneva, Switzerland.   

Ministers held talks on various topics including bilateral relation, cooperation, international and regional issues and exchanged their views.

Minister Waszczykowski made an official statement during the meeting on the decision of the Government to open the Embassy of Poland in Ulaanbaatar.

Minister also informed that delegation from Poland lead by the Prime Minister of Poland to attend the 11th ASEM meeting to be held in Ulaanbaatar.

Mongolia and Poland established diplomatic relations on April 14, 1950. Embassy of Poland was opened in 1960 in Ulaanbaatar and closed in 2009. Currently the Embassy of Poland to Beijing is in charge of Mongolia.
