Minimum wage means the lowest labor rate to be paid to employee engaged in basic services that does not require any specific education or profession.

In 2013 the Mongolia’s minimum wage was set at MNT192,000. Since then the Trade Union has been demanding the State to increase the minimum wage. The National tripartite committee on labor and social agreement agreed during its regular meeting to increase the minimum salary by 25% which means that it would be set at MNT240.000.

The new rate shall be validated from January 1, 2017.
