Up until now the internet connection and the state service was comparatively limited for citizens residing outside of urban areas.

The Government issued the resolution #123 of 2016 which boosts the internet speed to be the same as in urban areas at lower fee.

16 aimags shall be connected to the high speed internet for the first stage including Arkhangai, Bayankhongor, Bulgan, Govi-Sumber, Darkhan Uul, Dornogovi, Dornod, Dundgovi, Orkhon, Uvurkhangai, Umnugovi, Sukhbaatar, Selenge, Tuv, Khuvsgul and Khentii aimags. The remaining five aimags shall be connected from April 1.

40 seconds was required to open a webpage at speed of 300 Kbps and now 1 Mbps connection shall allow opening a web only in 11 seconds.

This improvement shall allow the local citizens to have an easy access to the state service said the officials. It will also support the local communities to receive timely information on elections.

Fee for 1 Mbps was reduced from MNT 55K to MNT 13K with internet speed boosted by 3.4 times.
